As Australian athletes racked up the medals at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, the many thousands of first-time Gold Coast visitors were discovering the area’s future holiday potential for themselves and their families.
The Games gave potential tourists a reason for coming, and an opportunity to see that not everywhere on the Gold Coast is like Surfers Paradise. Visitors reported being pleasantly surprised and better informed now about what the region has to offer.
Of course, the Gold Coast is known for its great sporting events and Broadbeach apartments have long been popular when it comes to accommodation. The Gold Coast does sport well, whether it be obvious synergies like international surfing championships, golf or the high-powered Supercars.
Sunshine, Sport and Entertainment
The potent mix of action, sunshine and endless venues for drinks, dining and entertainment make it the perfect destination. Interestingly, the lure of sport is now embracing ‘local’ events, too, like NRL. An increasing number of sports fans are choosing to avoid the slow drive home in favour of grabbing a great deal on Broadbeach apartments and making a night of it.
Traditionally, holiday apartments on the Gold Coast mainly attracted families seeking a seaside vacation. With plenty of theme parks and activities, long stretches of sand and an ice-creamery on every corner, who could wish for more?
Increasingly, however, we are also seeing more couples choosing Broadbeach apartments for special occasions and weekend escapes. For them, the lure is the climate, the many amazing restaurants and world-class entertainment.
Events All Year Round
For groups of mates, it’s the non-stop action and amazing activities that score gold. From scuba diving and deep sea fishing to music festivals and events, it’s easy to see the attraction.
